Note for Al-Diwaniya: this document is a working draft written to fit the app as described. Fill in every highlighted placeholder and have a Kuwaiti lawyer review it before you publish or submit to the app stores.
01Who we are
Al-Diwaniya is a team trivia game for gatherings, majlis nights and family get-togethers. The app is published and operated by Inspire Inter Web Design Company, a company registered in Kuwait at [Registered address] (“Al-Diwaniya”, “we”, “us”).
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Al-Diwaniya mobile app or this website, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@al-diwaniya.com and we will explain it properly.
02What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — the name or nickname you play under, your email address or phone number, and a profile picture if you choose to add one.
- Team and game setup — the team names you type in and the categories you pick for a round.
- Messages you send us — support requests, partnership enquiries, and any question you flag as wrong or unfair.
Information we collect automatically
- Gameplay data — games started and finished, scores, lifelines used, diamonds earned and spent, and which categories your group plays most.
- Purchase records — which game packs you bought and when. Card numbers never reach us; see section 4.
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system version, app version, language setting, approximate region (from your IP address, not GPS), and crash reports.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photo library, your microphone or camera input, or any health or financial account data.
03How we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Create your account and keep you signed in across your devices.
- Run games, track live scores and keep your diamond balance and remaining games accurate.
- Deliver the game packs you have bought and restore them if you reinstall the app.
- Fix crashes and bugs, and work out which parts of the app are confusing or slow.
- Decide which new categories and question packs to write next.
- Reply to your support messages and review the questions you report.
- Detect fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of use.
- Send you service messages about your account or purchases. Marketing emails are optional and you can unsubscribe from any of them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. Al-Diwaniya carries no third-party ads.
04Purchases and payments
Game packs and diamonds are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly from us. Your payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies — we never see or store your card number.
What we do receive is a confirmation that a purchase succeeded, the product bought, the transaction reference, and the store account it is tied to, so that we can unlock the right content and support you if something goes wrong.
05Who we share information with
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers who run parts of the app on our behalf — hosting, database, authentication, crash reporting and email delivery. They may only process your data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
- App stores, for purchase validation and restoring purchases, as described above.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to do so under Kuwaiti law or a valid court order.
- A buyer or successor, if the business is sold or merged. We would tell you before your information moved to a new controller.
Our current service providers are listed at [link to sub-processor list, or list them here].
06How long we keep it
- Account details — for as long as your account is open, then deleted within [30] days of you closing it.
- Purchase records — for [5] years, because tax and accounting rules require it, even after your account closes.
- Gameplay statistics — kept in anonymised, aggregated form that can no longer be linked back to you.
- Crash reports — [90] days.
- Support messages — [2] years, so we can follow up on repeat issues.
07How we protect your information
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest on our servers. Access to production data is limited to the small number of people who need it to do their job, and is logged. We review access rights regularly and require multi-factor authentication on all administrative accounts.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authority without undue delay, and tell you plainly what happened and what to do about it.
08Children and age limits
Al-Diwaniya is family-friendly and designed to be played across generations, but an account is meant for players aged [13] and over. Younger children are very welcome to play on a parent's or older sibling's device — that person holds the account and is responsible for it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under [13]. If you believe a child has created their own account, email hello@al-diwaniya.com and we will delete it and the data behind it.
09Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- See and edit your profile details inside the app, under Profile.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account from Profile → Account → Delete account, or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your profile and gameplay history; purchased packs cannot be restored afterwards.
- Turn off marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any of them.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, where the law gives you that right.
Email hello@al-diwaniya.com and we will respond within [30] days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that nobody else can make a request in your name.
10Where your information is stored
Our servers and service providers are located in [list regions, e.g. the EU and the GCC]. If your information is transferred outside Kuwait, we make sure it stays protected by a standard that is at least equivalent to this policy — through contractual safeguards with each provider.
11Third-party services
The app and this website contain links to the App Store, Google Play and our social media accounts. Once you follow one of those links, you are on someone else's platform and their privacy policy applies, not ours. We are not responsible for how they handle your data, so it is worth reading their policies too.
12Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app changes or the law does. The “last updated” date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, rather than quietly editing the page.
13Contact us
